PANAJI: Goa’s young shuttlers delivered impressive performances at the State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025, held at the Indoor Stadium in Campal and organized by Sunlite Sports and Cultural Club in association with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa.
Top seed Ayansh Sanke claimed the Boys U11 singles crown with a dominant 21-9, 21-12 victory over Anav Kannekar, showcasing his sharp reflexes and precise shot placement. In the Girls U11 singles, Amaira Dhumatker continued her fine run of form, defeating Komal Kothari 21-8, 21-7 to secure the title in straight games.
The Boys U13 singles final saw a spirited comeback from top seed Michael Mare, who bounced back after losing the opening game to beat Vishwa Parab 14-21, 21-17, 21-7 in an intense three-game battle. The Girls U13 singles encounter proved to be one of the highlights of the tournament, as Avni Khyalia fought back from a game down to edge out Amaira Dhumatker 15-21, 27-25, 21-19 in a nail-biting contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
In the doubles section, Anav Kannekar teamed up with Ayansh Sanke to clinch the Boys U11 doubles title, overcoming Suven Sawant and Viaan Redkar 23-21, 15-21, 21-18 in a hard-fought final. The Boys U13 doubles trophy went to Samarth Sakhalkar and Vishwa Parab, who eased past Pratik Naik Borkar and Varun Sahakari 21-10, 21-8. In the Girls U13 doubles, Pragya Audi and Komal Kothari combined effectively to defeat Amaira Dhumatker and Avni Khyalia 21-19, 21-14 and secure the championship.
The tournament highlighted Goa’s rising badminton talent and provided a platform for young players to showcase their growing potential and competitive spirit.
