Panaji: The Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities had recommended to the Directorate of Education, the Directorate of Higher Education, and the Directorate of Technical Education, directing all Minority Institutions in the State to maintain 4% reservation for Persons with Disabilities as per Section 34 of the RPwD Act in their institution in fresh recruitments as well as promotions.
In response, the Directorate of Education and the Directorate of Technical Education have directed all Minority Institutions to submit their action plan to fill in the vacancies of Persons with Disabilities to the Directorate of Social Welfare. Compliance of the mandate is to be filed within three months from the day of issuance of the order, failing which non-compliance will be dealt as per Section 89 of RPwD Act 2016.
All Minority Institutions are also required to maintain and submit their verified Roster copy of Persons with Disabilities to the Directorate of Social Welfare.
