PANAJI: The Town and Country Planning Department has formally approved the conversion of four land parcels, together measuring 13,936 square metres, into settlement zones in the villages of Arrosim and Assagao.
Officials stated that the changes to the Regional Plan will remain dependent on the outcome of Public Interest Litigation petitions that are presently pending before the High Court.
In a separate development, the department has also cleared proposals for the conversion of nine more land parcels, with a combined area of 12,464 square metres, under Section 39A of the TCP Act.
The proposed zoning changes involve land located in Latambarcem, Assagao, Corgao, Torxem, Raia, Deussua, Sao Jose de Areal, Cuncolim and Xeldem.
The TCP Department has called for suggestions and objections from the public, giving citizens a 30-day window to respond before the proposals are considered for final approval.
