MADEL: Colvale Police have registered a case against a 24-year-old motorcycle rider following a road accident at Madel, Thivim, in which two persons sustained injuries.
The case, Crime No. 64/2026, was registered on August 8 at 9.11 pm under Sections 281, 125(a) and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, based on a complaint filed by HC Mahadev Parab of Colvale Police Station.
According to police, the accident occurred on August 5 at around 8.45 am near Roy Farm, Madel, Thivim. The accused, Abhishek Mangaonkar, 24, a resident of Ambeli, Dodamarg, Maharashtra, was allegedly riding a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number MH-07-AR-6405 from Mapusa towards Assonora.
Police said that while attempting to overtake a four-wheeler travelling in the same direction, the rider allegedly moved onto the right side of the road and entered the wrong lane. His motorcycle subsequently collided with a Passion Pro motorcycle bearing registration number MH-24-AH-9581, which was travelling in the opposite direction from Thivim towards Mapusa.
The rider of the Passion Pro, identified as Kishor Satfale, 26, a resident of Dhanva, Thivim, sustained fracture injuries to his right shoulder and elbow after falling onto the road. His pillion rider, Pooja Satfale, 24, also sustained injuries to her leg.
The accused motorcycle rider also sustained injuries in the accident.
Colvale Police have registered the case and initiated further investigation. The investigation is being conducted by HC Mahadev Parab of Colvale Police Station.
