New Delhi: Three men allegedly involved in the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have been arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan while travelling on the Pune Jaipur Express. The arrests followed a joint operation by the Rajasthan Anti Gangster Task Force and Kota City Police based on information provided by Mumbai Police.
The three accused include an 18 year old man and a minor from Haryana, along with a 22 year old man from Bihar who lives in Mumbai. They are suspected of having links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Investigators believe two of them carried out the shooting, while the third helped facilitate their escape.
According to the investigation, the alleged shooters had monitored Shroff’s movements before the attack. They reportedly knew that the actor regularly visited a football ground in Juhu on Sundays and planned the shooting around his departure from the venue.
Following the incident, the suspects allegedly escaped along SV Road through Vile Parle and Andheri. They abandoned their motorcycle near Andheri West railway station before boarding a train. Preliminary intelligence suggested they subsequently crossed into Gujarat while attempting to evade the police.
Investigators suspect the attack involved assailants who had conducted reconnaissance and carefully planned their escape. Images of the suspected shooters also emerged as Mumbai Police intensified efforts to identify and apprehend those involved.
The firing occurred in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening when unidentified assailants allegedly targeted Shroff’s car. The actor escaped without injuries, while his driver and another person sustained injuries.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post. However, the authenticity of the claim has not been independently verified by the police.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his Bandra residence following the incident. He checked on the actor’s well being, spoke with his family and assured them that adequate security would be provided.
Shinde also warned that gang violence would not be tolerated in Mumbai and stressed that those responsible for the attack would face strong action. The investigation is continuing to establish the full circumstances of the shooting and the alleged involvement of the arrested suspects.
