ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered separate cases against two foreign nationals for allegedly staying in Goa without valid visa or travel documents, in violation of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
In the first case, registered as Anjuna Police Station Cr. No. 80/2026, a 27-year-old Nigerian national, identified as Anabel Afam, was allegedly found staying without a valid passport or travel documents at Room No. 16 of J7 Hotels & Resort, Guest House Bar-Café, at Flea Market Road, Monteiro Vaddo, Anjuna, on August 10.
According to the complaint filed by Police Sub-Inspector Parag M. Parekh of the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Panaji, the woman was found at the premises around 4.50 pm. Police said she was allegedly staying in India without valid documents, thereby contravening provisions of Section 3 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
Afam was placed under arrest at around 11.49 pm on August 10. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Saish M. Kinlekar of Anjuna Police Station.
In a separate case, Anjuna Police registered another case following a complaint by FRRO PSI Parag M. Parekh against 42-year-old Kenyan national Serah Nancy Nduta.
Police said Nduta was found staying at Room No. 14 of the same J7 Hotels and Resorts premises despite her e-Visa having expired on December 15, 2025. Her passport was reportedly valid from June 11, 2025, to June 10, 2035, while the e-Visa had been issued on November 16, 2025.
The Kenyan national was booked under Section 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, for allegedly staying in Goa without valid visa documents. Police records state that she was placed under arrest on August 6 at around 11.48 pm.
Further investigation into the second case is being carried out by PSI Saish Shetgaonkar of Anjuna Police Station.
