VASCO: An unidentified man, aged around 45–50 years, was found dead near the Vasco Municipality area in the early hours of Friday.
According to Vasco Police, a phone call was received from SDH, Chicalim, at around 12.18 am on August 7, informing that a person had been brought to the hospital by a 108 ambulance and was declared dead.
Police visited SDH, Chicalim, and conducted an enquiry into the circumstances. During the enquiry, it was revealed that the unidentified man had been found lying near the Vasco Municipality area.
An inquest panchanama was subsequently conducted over the deceased’s body. The body has been preserved at SGDH, Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
The identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading to his death are yet to be ascertained.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station.
