VASCO: The piling work of the new fish market project is to start within 15 days. The city Councillor, the project contractor, GSUDA officials, and the MMC engineer undertook the site inspection of the old demolished market shed.
City Councillor Shami Salkar said that post demolition of the old fish market shed in Vasco, an inspection was carried out of the site along with GSUDA official Munna, Municipal Engineer Agustinho Mesquita, Ex Councillor Rochana Borkar Consultant Datta Kare Contractor regarding the plans for the upcoming market on Wednesday.
She further said, “I have suggested a few changes related to the placement of toilet facility and some sitting arrangement of the vendors in the new project”.
“We also requested them to speed up the work of this project so that our new market is completed in time said Salkar. The contractor has assured to start the fish market project work within 15 days. The piling work will commence soon,” said Salkar.
The contractor and GSUDA officials also inspected the old fish market site to see whether it would flood during heavy rainfall or not. The contractor got convinced that the rainwater would smoothly pass through the drains, said City Councillor Salkar.
Earlier on Wednesday, the GSUDA officials and the project contractor also visited Vasco’s new fish market shed and inquired about the additional requirement of facilities in the new shed.
