PANAJI:
A week full of celebrations was organised by the Women Empowerment Cell of V.M Salgaocar College of Law Miramar from 1 Aug to 7 Aug 2024 Breaking the stereotypes and raising awareness on Breastfeeding. Some of the highlights were Poster poster-making competition: Where students came together and showcased their creativity while also raising awareness. Online Slogan writing competition compelled the students to think out of the box. Monologue competition:
Which even put the judges in awe at how good Actors our future lawyers were going to be. Next was the Poetry Writing competition:
This was not your ordinary poetry competition it came with its own twists making the students scuffle in their shoes. A picture was shown on the spot and the poets had to write down their creations by getting inspired from the given picture.
On day 6 a talk was arranged by the faculty. Dr Sophia Rodrigues a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, was the resource person who conducted an engaging session bursting many myths and stigmas related to breastfeeding. Some Do’s & Don’ts during breastfeeding and also educating students about the wonderful golden liquid. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the session.
On the last day, a quiz was arranged for the members of the Women Empowerment Cell And winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes. There was also an award ceremony arranged after the Quiz competition. All of the winners along with participants were awarded and everyone returned with content in their hearts and faces full of smiles.
And that concluded a week filled with fun, learning, and wonderful memories. Students participated in a good number of all the activities conducted during the entire week. All credit goes to the ever-enthusiastic faculty in charge of The Women Empowerment Cell which is headed by Dr. Kim Couto and Asst. Prof Ruchira Naik.
