PANAJI: As the issue of government formation in the State of Goa continues to drag on, the Congress and the BJP seems to be involved in a “war of words”.
Soon after Congress MLAs addressed a press conference on Friday stating they were open to any adjustments to keep BJP out of power, BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade took a swipe at Congress, especially targetting former CM Digambar Kamat.
“Digambar Kamat In a contradicting statement, a piece of paper you read in a press briefing today, is a pure display of desperation, and it reminds me of an idiom “गिरे तो भी टांग उपर”, which means you are unbothered by the mandate people of Goa has given against you, instead of gracefully accepting the defeat, you are trying to speak untruth,” Tanavade wrote on his social media handle.
He said Congress contested this election under Digambar’s face, but he could not even retain his own representing taluka.
“Instead of thinking too much about Govt formation (which will happen in a day or two), you should now sort out within yourself who will be your LoP and who will be your President,” he said.
Tanavade added, “My advice to you is to gracefully accept the people’s mandate and respect the vote share each political party has achieved. People had decided to reject Congress and vote others; it’s your failure”.
