PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said pharmaceutical industry in Goa produces 12% of the total medicines manufactured in India and now we aim to make Goa stand out as an emerging destination for Electronic Manufacturing and IT Hardware in the Country.
“12 percent of the pharmaceuticals products in country are produced in Goa. I invite all to invest in Goa and we will give you the best support,” said CM Sawant speaking at the Investors Meet of EMC, Tuem
He further said that with the aim to make Goa stand out as an emerging destination for Electronic Manufacturing and IT Hardware in the Country which will further help in generating employment to the Goan Youth, leading our State towards becoming Swayampurna
“Goa has a strong presence in fishing, agriculture, tourism, and pharmaceuticals sectors. We have also emerged as a manufacturing base for several leading companies in areas such as tyres and tubes, cement, electrical machinery, automatic washing machines, printed circuit boards.
CM Sawant said that the pharmaceutical industry in Goa produces 12% of the total medicines manufactured in India, and about 70% of their produce is exported to the most developed countries in the world.
“Goa has intensive industry-academia connect with the presence of premier institutes like IIT, NIT, BITS, GIM, pharmacy colleges, engineering colleges that provide access to readily available talent for the ecosystem,” he said
