CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have arrested a 23-year-old man after allegedly recovering 1.51 kg of suspected ganja during a search near Rock Forest Villas, Gaurawaddo East, Calangute.
According to police, the search was conducted between 12.30 am and 2.45 am on September 29. The accused, identified as Harsh Kumar, a resident of Nalanda, Bihar, was allegedly found carrying a bag containing greenish leafy substance with flowering or fruiting tops, suspected to be ganja.
The seized substance, weighing approximately 1,510 grams, was valued at around ₹1.5 lakh, police said. The material was seized under a search and seizure panchanama in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Kumar was arrested at around 4.35 am after being informed in writing of the grounds of his arrest in Hindi.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Rajaram Bagkar.
