SANCOALE: A 37-year-old truck driver from Bengaluru was found dead inside the cabin of his truck at a parking lot of Metastrip company in Sancoale on September 29.
Police received information at around 11.49 am that a dead body was lying inside the cabin of a truck parked at the premises. Police reached the spot and identified the deceased as Murali M., a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
According to preliminary enquiries with the deceased’s friend, Ramesh V. R., Murali had arrived in Goa on September 26 with the truck for loading at Metastrip. He had allegedly been consuming alcohol continuously and staying around the company premises.
Ramesh told police that he had gone to give Murali food at around 9 pm on September 28, when he found him heavily intoxicated and sleeping inside the truck cabin. When Ramesh returned to check on him at around 6.30 am on September 29, Murali was found dead inside the cabin.
Police conducted a scene of unnatural death (UD) occurrence panchanama and an inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Aditya Velip of Verna Police Station.
