MORMUGAO: Police have registered a case following a complaint by a woman regarding the alleged sexual assault of her minor daughter at Katem Baina.
According to the complaint, the incident took place between 10 pm and 10.30 pm on September 28 near the PWD sewerage plant at Katem Baina. The accused, identified as Sufiyan Shaikh, allegedly took the minor to his residence on the pretext of bringing food.
The complaint alleges that the accused then forcibly took the girl inside a room, restrained her and sexually assaulted her. She also allegedly sustained bodily injuries during the incident.
The identity of the complainant and the minor has been withheld to protect the child’s privacy.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station.
