Aam Aadmi Party – National Vice President, Cecille Rodrigues has exposed the midnight illegal activity of the some contractor, in connivance with the Goa PWD in Panaji and said that the work along the Miramar-Campal road strech had been started without any work order.
Rodrigues said, “A work order must be displayed at the site. If it is not displayed, the work is illegal. The police are the law enforcers who must stop it immediately”.
A visit to the site was made by Rodrigues in order to verify who was awarded the contract. She discovered that labourers are scraping the top surface of the road and loading it into trucks and taking it out at midnight . The way it was scraped even the lower later beneath the loose gravel was damaged.
Rodrigues said, “No machinery has been seen at the site for tarring or any sort of resurfacing work. So assuming that these workers were just instructed to take away the surface rubble and not replace it with anything, This amounts to simple robbery of a major road surface in the heart of Panaji”
When the Police came, there were no PWD supervisor on site nor was the contractor supervisor there on site.
On the basis of the complaint filed by Rodrigues at the Panaji Police station, the Police visited the site and ordered the workers to stop the work.
Further investigation by PSI Sanket of panjim police station is being carried out so as to bring to light how someone or anyone can come and just start scraping the surface of an iconic road like that without an iota of paperwork or documentation, to mention who the responsible parties are or what the scope of work is!
