PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee led by AICC incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao, President Amit Patkar, MLAs Carlos Ferreira Alvares, Rudolf Fernandes, Yuri Alemao, Sankalp Amonkar, Altone Dcosta, Rajesh Faldessai, Mahila president Beena Naik, Youth president Varad Mardolkar & others joined all India Congress meet at the Congress HQ in New Delhi.
The top brass met to protest against the Agniveer scheme and the unjust interrogation of Rahul Gandhi by the ED.
Speaking about the close interaction with Gandhi, GPCC President Amit Patkar said, “We stand by our leader during this uncalled interrogation of Rahulji by the ED. It’s a blatant misuse of government machinery to target the opposition.”
Elaborating on the ongoing protest against the Agniveer scheme, Patkar added that they support Gandhiji’s strong opposition to a scheme that will wreck India’s defence institution. “Our armed forces are our first line of protection, but the BJP is systematically eroding the fabric with such an ill-planned scheme. What happens to the youth after 4 years? Will the Government guarantee the careers of all those who pass out? This is just another pre-election gimmick by the BJP.”
Patkar added that they were inspired by the words of Gandhi, who in his address to the party workers said that the strength and support of all Congress workers were with him in that interrogation room. He also said that he was not alone, and it was entire Crores of Congressmen who were present with him in the room, which gave him the strength and patience.
