PORVORIM: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker & Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar today said that his aim is to construct the maximum number of houses for the needy under the initiative of Shram Dham in the next five years
“With the initiative of Shram Dham, we have decided to construct houses for the needy. Currently, 14 houses are being constructed; we will construct 150 houses in the near future,” said Tawadkar
He further said that the disputes between the house owner and land owner, if any, will be resolved through discussions.
Tawadkar announced that the chief minister will lay foundation stones to construct 14 houses under Shram-Dham at Agonda (3), Canacona municipality (6), Poinguinim (3) Gaondongrim (1) and Loliem-Polem (1) in the first phase, without seeking benefits from any existing housing scheme under the state or central government.
“We have identified 70-80 houses in dire need of reconstruction, besides another 60-70 are also in need of attention. So another 150 houses are in the process of identification, and we will also construct these houses within the next four years,” said Tawadkar.
Canacona MLA and Chairman of Balram Charitable Foundation Ramesh Tawadkar said all the 14 houses to be constructed in the first phase will be built by April end.
