PORVORIM: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte today clarified that allotment or leasing out of GTDC properties is done following through tendering process and as per CVC guidelines.
Khaunte said that the opposition should not try to fool the people as the tendering process is very transparent and open for everyone to bid.
Khaunte addressed media persons following an allegation by MLA Vijai Sardesai on the floor of the house into the properties allotted by GTDC. He raised doubts with regards to the violation of CVC guidelines & undervaluation.
Khuante said that Colva properties, as pointed out by the MLA, are allotted to be developed by MGV Food Pvt ltd and the Panaji Quarterdeck property is allotted to Trishul for Rs 63 lakh a year.
He said that all the tenders which are floated by the government are through CVC guidelines.
“The tendering is a very clear and open process. Vijai could have easily applied for the tender. There is no part or any place in the country that you can a Goan cannot participate,” Minister said.
It’s a competitive bidding process and hence the one who bids the highest gets the tender, he added.
“Vijai should not try to fool the people. the value of the property is measured when you build the building,” Khaunte said.
Speaking on Sunburn, Khaunte said that there is no request for holding Sunburn at Mopa.
“The event will require NOC from the tourism Dept,” he said.
