CURCA: A 61-year-old resident of Curca, Tiswadi, has been allegedly cheated of ₹1.46 lakh by an unknown fraudster who posed as an Army officer and prospective tenant after responding to a house rental advertisement posted on 99acres.com.
According to the complaint lodged by Ganpat Rai Saxena, the accused contacted him on May 31, 2026, expressing interest in renting his property. Claiming to be an Army officer, the fraudster said he would pay an advance towards the rent and asked the complainant to transfer ₹5 for payment verification.
