Panaji: The controversial Goa Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2021 was passed by the House by a division of votes 23-7. The Opposition benches demanded that the Bill needs to be sent to select committee as there were over nine amendments proposed. However, the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the government is in a hurry to appoint a Lokayukta as per High Court order and hence the Bill needs to be passed. Porvorim: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte teared into government over Mopa Airport construction he alleged was a huge scam. “The government has waived Rs 40 cr for construction licence. The Village Action Committee Against Doubling of the South Western Railway Track (VACAD) recently learnt from a local newspaper that the Southern Western Railway (SWR) has led Chief Minister Sawant to believe that there are a total of 12 passenger trains. VACAD reiterated SWR has been attempting to pass off non-daily trains (weekly or bi-weekly) as everyday passenger trains. PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the first public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging unit today, as part of the Green Goa Initiative. The EV charger has been installed by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) at the Assembly Complex of Goa Legislative Secretariat. It is a 142 KW fast charger and is first among the 12 public EV chargers to be set up by CESL.
