PONDA: Balarath Employees providing pick and drop services to school children’s has warned to launch major agitation for Salary hike and pending demands.
Shivkumar Naik General Secretary of United Balarath Employees association said our families are suffering for past ten years due to poor salaries with no hike in salaries for several years.
The drivers are getting Rs 11000 and conductors getting Rs 5500 and it has become difficult to feed families and childrens due to growing inflation with prices of commodities are doubled and skyrocketed.
The scheme started in year 2009-10 but since past ten year only hike was given in 2017 with driver was given hike of Rs 1000 and attendant Rs 500.
He warned government that they have no option than to go on strike for their long pending demands.Around 844 employees working on Balarath buses are suffering due to poor salaries for past ten years and further all the requests, memorandums and ultimatums given with regards to their long pending demands are fallen on deaf ears of government,
He said employees including bus drivers and attendant are unhappy for government not finding solution to their legitimate demands and said that they would declare their strike any time soon.
He said Balrath Employees Union had already long back given ultimatum to the State government to meet their long pending series of demands including job security and salaries on lines with skilled workers of State Government.
Instead of ten month salary for twelve months, and also demands extension of other benefits like PF, ESI, health insurance and also main demand is salary should be directly credited to their accounts but none of demands are fulfilled.
He said We don’t want strike but now. We had made our mind to go on strike and may declare any time soon. We don’t want to inconvenience students and so if Government wishes to solve our demand it should be at the earliest said Shiv Kumar Naik.
The drivers and attendants are providing services to the school students by transporting them from home to school and back.
He also said Balarath buses are meant for only School and Higher Secondary students but some schools ask us for transportation of KG students. He said many times school buses are overloaded and we have no option to carry them.
Further not only schools but also KG students are cramped into some Balarath buses risking their life.
