PONDA: The Villagers of Bethora Nirnakal Konshem Kodar Panchayat continue to wait for the inauguration of the new Panchayat building.
The locals said the work on the Panchayat building is completed after six years of delay, and now the locals are eagerly awaiting its inauguration by the government.
According to Villagers, the new Panchayat building comprised of ground plus a fully equipped 700-sitting capacity hall, and there was a demand for this hall from locals of Bethora.
A newly built spacious auditorium for Betoda Nirankal Konshe Kodar Gram Panchayat is equipped with all facilities and built ready at the cost of Rs 2.17 crores.
It was proposed by former Sarpanch Poonam Samant in 2013, and work started late in 2017 for some reasons. After work was also delayed due to covid pandemic.
The existing Panchayat Body led by Sarpanch Umesh Gaude made an effort to complete the project and the hall is now completed and ready for inauguration in the past few months, said the locals.
The hall was demanded by Villagers as they had no facilities for weddings and other functions and were forced to arrange it at a distant place in Ponda City.
The panchayat area had no air-conditioned and spacious auditorium with all the facilities. Therefore the hall is built for the convenience of villagers. Locals said it would also generate revenue for Panchayat.
If the auditorium is inaugurated, the citizens can use it for their family functions, public programs, and non-government organizations for various revenue-generating programs, said the villagers.
