PONDA: Goa’s first Chief Minister Bahusaheb Bandodkar’s birth anniversary was celebrated today at Farmagudi near Farmagudi Fort.
On occasion Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, MGP President Deepak Dhavlikar, PMC Chairperson Ritesh Naik, Bandora Sarpanch Sukanand Kurpaskar, Kavlem Sarpanch Manuja Naik and Panch members from various Panchayats were present.
Ravi Naik, after garlanding the flowers to Bahu’s statue, said that Bahujans in Goa are proud of the contribution of the first CM, Bahusaheb Bandodkar.
He said because of Bhau people are literate today.
He started schools in every nook and corner for the sake of Bahujans. Goa is today progressing on the path of development because of his immense contribution. He said Bahu was a sportsman and contributed to sports development.
Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude Bhau was a visionary leader, and because of his vision today, most schools have provisions of ground essential for their growth and education.
He urged students, besides education, to participate in sports and develop art skills among them to develop their personalities.
