SANVORDEM: Former BJP PWD minister Deepak Pauskar spits venom after being denied a party ticket from the Sanvordem constituency for the assembly election. Blames BJP for ignoring, barring him from working freely as a minister and decides to contest independently in Sanvordem.
Speaking at a press conference at Sanvordem convened by former BJP MLA and PWD Minister Deepak Pawaskar, he said, “The BJP party has betrayed us.” “I got the impression that I will not get my candidature a year and a half ago because whenever I tried to get an appointment with the Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, he always ignored or avoided it,” Pawaskar told gathering.
He further said that he was scared to face people before the press conference, but looking at the support of the people, I am encouraged to do work ahead for the development of the Sanvordem constituency.
Pauskar also claimed that those nominated by the BJP today had worked against both the Zila Panchayat members of Sanvordem constituency during the Zilla Panchayat elections, but the party ignored these things. Since 2019, we Sanvordem constituency workers have been unitedly worked for the BJP, but unfortunately, they ignored everything,” Pauskar said.
“We will not remain silent on the fact that the decision to drop my BJP ticket that has been taken today is against the party workers. We will continue to contest the elections as independent candidates whether me or my brother Sandip, it is the decision of yours how you think and what you people want,” he added.
He further said that the Savordem constituency is said to be the stronghold of the BJP, and we are not exhausted by the decision taken by the BJP against the party workers, which is just the beginning.
“Today, you see, at the press conference, party workers from seven panchayats, sarpanchs, panch members former district panchayat members are present to support me. With this enthusiasm, we will contest the elections independently,” he said.
When questioned more about what he feels now about BJP, Deepak Pawaskar said that the BJP government is responsible for the lack of development and expansion work which is in a partial state. They have never allowed me to work freely.
He further said that the Panchayat members, former Zilla Panchayat members and workers present on the platform with him will resign from the primary membership of the BJP.
“Now, Sandeep Pawaskar or I will contest the elections as an independent, and I promise to complete the work I have undertaken, and for this, I am committed to the Sanvordem constituency,” Pawaskar said.
On the other hand, Sandeep Pawaskar was asked if Deepak Pawaskar says that he would field two candidates for the Sanvordem constituency; he replied that it would be up to our workers and supporters to decide.
Sandeep Pawaskar said that all the work undertaken has been completed, and I support Deepak Pawaskar for his commitment and work done for the Sanvordem constituency.
