Aam Aadmi Party today held the present Bharatiya Janata Party government responsible for the likely spike in Corona cases in Goa due to the unbridled parties held to bring in the new year which it said not only proves that Dr Pramod Sawant has lost control over the administration and hence called him a “Puppet chief minister.”
AAP Goa convener Rahul Mhambre pointed out that Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has already admitted that there will be a spike in Corona cases as most of the parties organized to bring in the new year were actually to bring in Corona infections as the Standard Operational Procedures were not followed.
“While the Tourism Minister invited the tourists and boasted that 42 lakh tourists visited Goa, the Health Minister lamented this turn out and this proves beyond doubt that ministers of the same government are at logger heads with the chief minister having no control absolutely,” he said.
He pointed out that 42 lakh tourists not following the SOP would infect thousands of Goans and wondered whether the administration is equipped to handle such a spike. Rahul pointed out that earlier too the covid patients were made to suffer a lot including sleeping on the floor of the hospital.
Further he pointed out that Sunburn Festival was held as usual with a large number of people attending it even though the government kept stating that no license was given for it. “If there was no license given how was it held and how is it that the police allowed it to happen unless there were heavy bribes paid,” he asked.
He pointed out that AAP had even earlier stated that Sunburn will happen even without license and the same has come true and said chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant is not only a fotting chief minister but now also become a puppet chief minister.
While repeating the charge that the BJP government in Goa is anti Goans and anti people he said it is only pandering to the demands of its masters who are all sitting in Delhi and lamented that instead of being in Goa to ensure that the SOP were adhered to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane was on a holiday to Taiwan just as Rahul Gandhi of the Congress opted to visit Milan when the farmers were protesting in Delhi.
