PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant handed over financial assistance to the first eligible beneficiary under the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Scheme at Manipal Hospital, Goa, marking the rollout of an initiative aimed at easing the financial burden of medical treatment on patients and their families.
Sawant said the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not come in the way of timely medical care. Eligible applicants can call the toll-free helpline 14524 for information and guidance on accessing assistance under the scheme.
Emphasising the government’s continued focus on healthcare support, Sawant said the initiative builds on the success of the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), which has benefited lakhs of people in Goa.
The new scheme is intended to further strengthen the state’s healthcare support system by extending a helping hand to eligible patients and their families during difficult medical circumstances.
The initiative seeks to provide financial relief to families grappling with treatment expenses and reinforce the government’s commitment to ensuring that financial hardship does not stand in the way of access to essential medical care.
