PONDA: A woman and her daughter sustained injuries after a passenger bus allegedly rammed their Alto car and dragged it into a road divider at Mangeshi slope in Ponda on October 17.
According to a complaint filed by Sujata Phadte, a resident of Usgao Tisk, Ponda, the accident occurred at around 7.20 pm when a passenger bus driven by Arjun Morjekar, a resident of Volvai, Ponda, was proceeding from Kundai towards Ponda.
The complaint alleges that the bus driver drove rashly and negligently and hit the rear of the complainant’s Alto car at Mangeshi slope. The impact allegedly caused the bus to drag the car into the road divider, leaving Phadte and her daughter, Siddhi Phadte, injured.
The complainant further alleged that the bus driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle at the accident site without providing medical assistance to the injured or informing the police.
Further investigation into the case is being conducted by HC 4928 Govind Gawas of Mardol Police Station.
