CHICALIM: A scooter rider, Balvir Singh Sardar, a resident of Mangoor Hill, Vasco, succumbed to his injuries following a road accident near Mohan Garage at Chicalim on Monday, October 19.
According to a state complaint lodged by Head Constable Rajesh Bandodkar of Vasco Police Station, the accident occurred at around 12.44 pm at a curve near Mohan Garage, Chicalim.
The complaint states that a Maruti Dzire car driven by Subhash Gaudar, a resident of Sancoale, Zuarinagar, was proceeding from Chicalim towards Vasco when the driver allegedly drove rashly and negligently while overtaking and hit the rear of a Honda Aviator scooter travelling ahead.
Due to the impact, the scooter rider, Balvir Singh Sardar, fell onto the road along with his vehicle and sustained injuries. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
Further investigation into the fatal accident is being conducted by PSI Akanksh Fadte Dessai of Vasco Police Station.
