CANACONA: A day after Canacona BJP submitted a letter to Canacona BJP MLA and GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar to agreed to persue the demand of Canconcars for resuming long-distance train halts at Canacona.
Canacona Railway Stop Bachao Action Committee (CRSBAC) met and gave ultimatum up till 10th of February to face agitation if Train Halts are not resumed before the date.
Members of Swabhimani Jagruth Canconkar, Senior Citizens of Canacona, “Vision & Mission…Progressive Canacona”, Jana Sena Warriors and concerned citizens of Canacona met under the banner of CRSBAC to discuss and deliberate future plan of actions to intensify the Railway agitations on Friday.
During the meeting, a stalemate that ensued after 19th Jan., 2023, when a joint meeting was held with senior officials of KR was discussed. After discussing all pros and cons of the issue/agitation, it was decided to give an ultimatum till 10th Feb. (the 15 days ultimatum given on 19th Jan is expired on 5th Feb., plus added additional 5 days).
‘If the KR, the MLA of Canacona or the Govt. of Goa fail to resolve issue of stopping/halting Long Distance/Express Trains at Canacona Railway Station till 10th Feb., it has been decided to intensify the Railway agitation and may be organize in any form, Rasta Roko, Railway Roko or Canacona Bandh’ Declared CRSBAC Coordinator- Janardhan Bhandari.
The members spoke to warn the Government that any unwanted incident or any bodily damage occur to any senior citizen of Canacona, the Government of Goa will be solely held responsible for all consequences as lethargy of Government is forcing these senior citizens to come on the street’, states a press note
