PANAJI: BJP Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida today resigned as the MLA and also from the primary membership of the BJP. Carlos is the second MLA from the ruling to resign.
Carlos submitted his resignation to Legislative Secretary Namrata Ulman this afternoon.
“I have not taken any decision in regards to joining any party, all parties are in touch with, and I will take the decision by tonight. The BJP has hurt me; I have already mailed my resignation to BJP President.”
He further said that BJP does not want me and has sidelined me and have been asked to work under Daji Salkar, who was inducted recently.
“I met TMC as I have to search for options; I have been told that I will not be getting a ticket and the ticket will be given to Salkar,” he added.
Carlos said he had filed a complaint against Daji Salkar on the communidade scam.
“I cannot work under Daji Salkar. He is getting more importance; I will win Vasco seat against BJP; I have been hurt a lot by party,” Carlos said.
Meanwhile, Carlos said that in the absence of Parrikar, all the loyalists are being taken for granted.
