PANAJI: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) held a detailed meeting with North Goa Collector Ankit Yadav, IAS, and Traffic Police Inspector Mahesh Kerkar to discuss measures aimed at improving traffic management and reducing congestion across the capital city.
The discussions focused on creating a more organised, accessible and stress-free urban environment through better coordination, strategic planning and improved road usage.
During the meeting, officials reviewed several traffic-related concerns affecting different parts of Panaji and explored both immediate logistical measures and long-term solutions to address major traffic bottlenecks.
CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate said the civic body remains committed to improving the daily commuting experience for residents while ensuring smooth movement for tourists visiting the city.
“Our continuous efforts are focused on improving the daily convenience of our citizens while also ensuring that tourists visiting Panaji experience a welcoming, well-regulated and orderly city. We are working closely with the administration and traffic police to identify practical solutions that can ease congestion and improve mobility across the city,” Monserrate said.
Authorities also discussed ways to streamline traffic flow during peak hours, strengthen coordination between departments and improve overall traffic discipline in busy areas.
Officials stated that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to modernise traffic management systems and enhance the overall urban experience in Panaji for both residents and visitors.
