Panaji: Some of Goa’s brightest young table tennis talents delivered impressive performances at the MCC All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, held at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda. Organised by the Margao Cricket Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, the tournament witnessed intense competition across multiple age categories.
Chandan Caro emerged champion in the Boys Under-15 category after producing a commanding display in the final. He defeated Ruhaan Shaikh in straight games, winning 12-10, 11-5, 11-6 to secure the title. In the Girls Under-15 final, Ishita Colaso also registered a convincing 3-0 victory, overcoming Sachi Dessai 11-6, 11-6, 11-9 to claim the championship.
The Boys Under-13 title went to Yug Prabhu, who defeated Ishaan Colaso in a competitive final. Yug maintained his composure in key moments to record a 3-0 win with scores of 11-4, 13-11 and 11-9.
In the younger age groups, Ashank Dalvi lifted the Boys Under-11 crown after defeating Aarish Shaikh 3-1. Ashank won the opening two games before his opponent fought back to take the third. However, he regained control in the fourth game to seal the match 11-6, 11-9, 6-11, 11-4.
One of the most exciting contests of the tournament came in the Girls Under-13 final, where Sachi Dessai edged past Tisha Shaikh in a five-game thriller. Sachi prevailed 10-12, 12-10, 15-13, 9-11, 11-8 to capture the title after a closely fought battle.
The Girls Under-11 final produced another dramatic comeback, with Anaya Shukla recovering from a two-game deficit to defeat Vanlalhriapuii 3-2. After losing the opening games 9-11 and 8-11, Anaya responded strongly to win the next three games and complete a remarkable turnaround, securing the championship with scores of 11-7, 11-8 and 11-8.
