PANAJI: Chandan Caro, Ruhaan Shaikh, Ishaan Colaso and Yug Prabhu advanced to the semi-finals of the Boys Under-15 category at the MCC All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament being held at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda.
Chandan delivered a dominant display in the quarter-finals, defeating Aarish Shaikh in straight games with a 3-0 victory. Ruhaan also enjoyed a comfortable passage into the last four, overcoming Lalremkima 3-0. The remaining quarter-final encounters proved far more competitive, with Ishaan Colaso edging Yug Prabhu 3-2 in a closely fought contest. Riying Modi also secured a hard-earned semi-final berth after defeating Vedant Wagle by the same 3-2 scoreline.
The Boys Under-13 competition witnessed equally exciting action as players battled for places in the semi-finals. Yug Prabhu emerged victorious against Kedar Nair in a thrilling five-game match, winning 3-2. Kaushik Nair produced one of the most convincing performances of the round, registering a 3-0 victory over Dhruv Kanji.
Ishaan Colaso continued his impressive run in the tournament with a 3-1 win against Ashank Dalvi, while Aarish Shaikh booked his semi-final place after defeating Yuvaan Sanke by the same margin.
The tournament, organised by Margao Cricket Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, has showcased some of Goa’s most promising young table tennis talents. With the semi-finals now set in both age categories, players will be aiming to maintain their momentum as they move closer to the title.
The competition continues at the Multipurpose Stadium, Fatorda, where the remaining matches are expected to produce more high-quality action and intense contests among the state’s rising stars.
