DABOLIM: A British national was booked by Dabolim Airport Police after he was found carrying a GPS device while travelling from Goa to Delhi, in violation of provisions under the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act.
The incident came to light at Dabolim Airport when the passenger, identified as Samir Ciaran, was intercepted during security checks prior to departure. Upon inspection, authorities detected a GPS device in his possession.
Based on the findings, Dabolim Airport Police registered an offence under Section 6(1A) read with Section 3 of the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933.
The investigation is being carried out by PSI Kasim J. Shingangutti under the supervision of PI John Fernandes and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam
