CURCHOREM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday blamed the COVID19 pandemic for delay in implementing the development works in the State.
Addressing a gathering in Curhcorem, CM said that the BJP government has done its best to create a bright future for Goa.
“Some people say that the government took time to launch administration at the doorstep. We have to understand that there was a pandemic situation in the State for the last two years. It also time as there are several protocols to be followed,” he said.
He said that despite various restrictions, the government has done many activities for the welfare of the State, and he is proud of teh achievement.
Dr. Sawant also said that the government had to face the pandemic situation and the natural calamities like heavy storms and floods.
“Keeping all these conditions in mind, I have always said in my speech that there is no need of panicking (bhivpachi garaz na),” he said.
The CM added, “I said that only because if I had panicked, people would have panicked. People’s confidence would have been shaken.”
CM also said that the government has not fallen short anywhere in the last two and a half years.
“I congratulate everyone for the hard work done by our government as well as the health centres, the police department and the other offices,” he said.
Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar, Curchorem-Cacora Municipality chairperson Vishwas Sawant, South Goa Collector Ruchita Katiyar, Xeldem zilla Panchayat member Siddharth Desai and other dignitaries were present.
