CUNCOLIM: Police have registered a case following a complaint alleging cruelty and harassment towards a visually disabled woman at Becklem Wado in Cuncolim.
According to the complaint lodged by the sister of the victim, the accused, identified as Bhiku Naik Dessai of Becklem Wado, Cuncolim, along with his family members, allegedly abused and threatened the visually impaired woman prior to April 28, 2026.
The complainant alleged that the victim had approached the accused persons seeking food and money for medical treatment, which were allegedly kept in their custody. However, instead of assisting her, the accused allegedly subjected her to harassment and cruel treatment.
It was further alleged that the accused persons dumped mud inside the toilet used by the victim, locked the toilet door, and restrained her from using the facility, forcing her to attend nature’s call in the open.
The complaint states that the accused failed to provide the victim with basic necessities and acted in a cruel manner towards her. Police are investigating the matter further.
