PORVORIM: Directorate of Education (DoE) has issued Show Cause Notice to Mushtifund High School, Cujira Bambolim, Goa.
The notice demands an explanation within seven working days regarding allegations of charging illegal fees and collecting funds without prior approval from the prescribed authority. Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation may result in appropriate action against the school’s management.
DoE has asked the Chairman, School Managing Committee, Mushtifund High School, Cujira Bambolim Goa to explain in writing to the undersigned within a period of seven working days from the receipt of this Show Cause Notice
“As to why action deemed fit should not be initiated against the School Management of Mushtifund High School, Cujira Bambolim Goa for charging illegal fees/ collecting/ receiving/ levying any such fees or collecting such charges or creating such funds without prior approval of the prescribed authority before levying such fees or collecting such charges or creating such funds,” the notice states
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant earlier had issued stern warning to government-aided schools found charging extra fees from students.
“I warn government-aided schools found charging extra fees from students.there is no need to pay any additional or different fees as these schools are getting all the funding from the government,” Sawant had said
He further had said that government gives grants-in-aid as well as maintenance fees to the aided schools. There have been complaints that these schools seek donations/fees for PTA, transport, maintenance, etc.
