CANACONA: Asking the fishermen to focus more on education, Fisheries minister Nilkant Halarnkar said Intelligence not on develops, but also increases through education.
‘Education is such a process, that it makes everyone prosperous. For that, focus on education to save the next generation’. Halarnkar was speaking at the ‘Sagar Manthan’ organised by Akhil Goa Kshetriya Pagi Samaj at Rajbhag –Tarir in Canacona.
Speaking on this occasion, Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar said that he shares a close relationship with Pagi Samaj and he assured that the All Goa Kshatriya Pagi Samaj will also benefit with the Samaj Bhawan built at Rajbagh.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar said that we resolves that the society will always benefit from your cooperation in solving the problems facing the society.
CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar said, in other taluka’s mostly non-Goans have captured and occupied the fish market of Goa. ‘However, as the women of the fishing community in Canacona did not leave their businesses, non-Gomantakis could not occupy the only market of Canacona today and we need to appreciate it’.
Enterprenuer Rajesh Tarker, said , ‘Today, the young women of the society have been given jobs in our establishment an I will continue to share 25 percent of our income for the upliftment and benefit of the society.
Besides, Speaker Ramesh Tavadkar, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, CMC Chairperson Ramakant on the platform, Gaonkar, Rajesh Tarker of Rajdeep Builders, AKPS president Ashok Dhuri, Ex- CMC Chairperson Diwakar Pagi, Sarvanand Kankonkar, Prasad Pagi, Councillor Gandesh Madgaonkar were also present.
On this occasion Ratnakar Dhuri, a former CMC Chairperson and one of the long serving Councillor was honored with ‘Pagi Samaj Bhushan’ award, while Tulsidas Yesu Pagi and Soham Santosh Pagi were felicitated for their work to the society. Pankaj Namshikar and Rejha Dhuri coordinated the program and Ashok Dhuri conducted the programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prasad Pagi.
