ARAMBOL: Police have registered an FIR after two unidentified men allegedly posed as wedding guests and stole gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth ₹13.65 lakh during a wedding ceremony in Arambol.
According to the complaint filed by Rohan Naik (39), a resident of Khalchawada, Arambol, the theft occurred on April 26 between 1.15 pm and 1.25 pm inside the changing room of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Hall at Madhalawada, Arambol.
Police said the accused, aged between 25 and 35 years, attended the complainant’s brother’s wedding pretending to be invitees before allegedly stealing a black Louis Philippe zip handbag from inside the hall.
The bag reportedly contained a gold necklace, a gold finger ring, a mobile handset and cash of ₹4.5 lakh. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at around ₹13.65 lakh.
An FIR has been registered in the matter and further investigation is being carried out by PSI J. Abhishekh Chodankar.
