PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that his government would introduce a bill to give fix term employment to candidates who complete apprenticeships through the labour and employment department in the next assembly session.
“Government would introduce a bill to give fix term employment to candidates who complete apprenticeship through labour and employment department in the next assembly session,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that it would be mandatory for private employers to hire at least 60% of their staff permanently, Sawant said.
“Employing 100% staff on contract, as is being presently done, will not be allowed,” he added.
He also said that a task force would be formed to monitor if employees are being paid as per the minimum wages prescribed by law.
“Fresh candidates would not be taken directly into government service. Aspirants would have to get experience by working in the private sector before applying for government jobs,” he added.
