SAWANTWADI: Four persons were injured after a car plunged into a roadside drain in the Amboli Ghat on Tuesday, following an apparent loss of control by the driver.
The accident involved a family from Baherchawada in Sawantwadi. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a roadside drain.
The injured have been identified as Shahbaz Rakhanji (35), Aman Beg (22), Nazim Sayyed (35) and Abrar Chaudhary (25).
Local motorists and passersby rushed to the spot and rescued the occupants from the damaged vehicle before emergency services arrived.
Amboli Police reached the scene and carried out the necessary legal formalities. Gele Sarpanch Sagar Dhokre also assisted in the rescue and relief operations.
The injured were shifted for medical treatment, and further investigation into the accident is underway.
