PANAJI: The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Goa has deported nine foreign nationals during May 2026 as part of its continued crackdown on overstaying foreigners, while a fresh enforcement drive in Mandrem on Thursday detected seven more overstayers.
According to FRRO Goa, the drive conducted on May 15 in Mandrem led to the detection of five Russian nationals, one Ukrainian national and one South African national allegedly overstaying in the country. Authorities said necessary legal action has been initiated against them.
FRRO Goa further stated that the nine foreign nationals deported so far in May 2026 include five Ugandan nationals, three Russian nationals and one Nigerian national. Officials said the deportations followed sustained legal and administrative action, and proposals for blacklisting under appropriate categories have also been initiated.
The agency informed that since January 2026, a total of 27 overstaying foreign nationals of various nationalities have exited the country.
During 2025, FRRO Goa deported or facilitated the exit of 120 overstaying foreign nationals, including 29 Bangladeshi nationals.
The operation was carried out through the efforts of PI FRRO Devendra under the close monitoring of SP/DySP FRRO Shri Braz Menzes and under the overall supervision of SP FRRO Arshi Aadil, IPS.
FRRO Goa reiterated its commitment to taking firm and lawful action against overstaying foreign nationals while safeguarding the interests of genuine and law-abiding foreign visitors in Goa.
The agency also advised hotel owners, guest house operators, homestay providers, landlords and other accommodation providers to ensure timely and accurate submission of C-Forms/Form III for foreign nationals staying at their premises, warning that failure or delay in reporting could attract legal consequences.
