MOPA: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that the Goa government needs to create a master plan to enhance the state’s transportation infrastructure, with plans to sanction projects totaling between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000 crore over the next five years.
Following the dedication of a six-lane access controlled elevated section connecting Mopa’s Manohar International Airport with Dhargal in north Goa, he was speaking.
“The US government has made the decision to grant a drone taxi license there. It is possible for four to six people to travel by plane. This revolution will take place. I had suggested a plan for a water taxi in Goa when I was the Union minister for shipping, but it was never implemented. The idea was for visitors to arrive at the airport, take a ropeway to the water taxi point, and then proceed to their hotels,” he said.
“Hotels can build separate jetties to receive tourists because they are situated on the shore. A state such as Goa ought to enhance public transportation. The creation of a master plan for public transportation requires special consideration. The state’s vehicle pollution will go down as a result, according to the Union minister of roads and transportation.
According to Gadkari, the estimated Rs 22,000 crore in approved works for Goa will be finished this year, and the remaining Rs 25000–30,000000 crore in approved work will be approved over the following five years.
He said that a time would come when no minister from Goa would need to travel to Delhi in order to request a prompt completion of the works.
The minister added that a bypass that would cost Rs 3,500 crore and pass through Margao and the Karnataka border would be approved.
Attending the event were Union Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
