PANAJI: India’s coastal state of Goa has denied reports circulated by certain sections of the media claiming that an unfortunate parasailing incident took place at one of its beaches.
According to Goa Police, the incident dates back to 2019 and did not occur within the jurisdiction of the state.
The clarification was issued after an old video resurfaced on social media and went viral.
According to a senior official from the Department of Tourism, Goa, the public at large is requested to avoid believing or sharing unverified reports that may create fear in the minds of tourists without proper fact-checking.
Goa Tourism continues to ensure that its beaches remain safe for all tourists, subject to adherence to strict local guidelines and respect for seasonal ocean conditions.
The department has implemented comprehensive safety protocols, including the “Safe & Clean Beaches” mission aimed at reducing crime and ensuring public decorum, the official added.
