PANAJI: The Goa Government has urged all government officials and employees to adopt fuel-saving measures and make greater use of public transport in view of the evolving global situation affecting international fuel supply chains.
In a circular issued by the General Administration Department, government staff have been advised to prefer public transport for daily commuting wherever feasible and convenient.
The circular follows an appeal by the Prime Minister of India stressing the importance of fuel conservation and responsible energy use.
Employees have also been encouraged to participate in carpooling arrangements with colleagues residing in nearby areas and to plan official travel judiciously.
The government further advised departments to make greater use of virtual platforms for meetings and official interactions wherever possible and ensure prudent and economical use of government vehicles and transport resources.
