Panaji: AI is no short of a revolution, but business leaders must be more hands-on and figure out how to judiciously use the new-age technology to their advantage, according to Namita Tiwari, a top marketing vertical official at tech giant Wipro.
“In the era of GenAI, labelling the technology as revolutionary is no exaggeration; however, leaders must not adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach. Unlike any preceding technology, GenAI-enabled tools are crafted to autonomously change and evolve perpetually,” she said.
Tiwari, a marketing director at one of the country’s leading technology firms, was speaking at Samriddhi 2023, an annual international business symposium hosted by the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) at its Sanquelim campus. The event saw the participation of over 4,600 students from the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs), XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune and various IITs (Indian Institute of Technology).
The symposium featured seven global competitions, offering a total prize pool of Rs. five lakh, and hosted engaging workshops on financial statement analysis and branding skills.
Themed ‘BisVision’, the symposium celebrated homegrown startups, focusing on their unique identities and positive impact on communities, while bringing together students from leading business schools across India to engage with industry leaders, fostering insightful discussions and connections.
Workshops at the symposium were led by industry experts like Ketan Gaikwad, Founder of C2C Mentors, and engaging sessions by experts such as Unnati Bagga, Organic Growth Specialist and Jay Purohit, managing partner at Vinayak Real Estate, a leading real estate developer, imparted exceptional branding skills and guided attendees in mastering sales and customer psychology.
Speakers, namely R. Gopalakrishnan (Ex-Director of TATA Sons), Naresh Tyagi (Chief Sustainability Officer at Aditya Birla Fashion), Priya Ranjan Kumar (Vice President & Head HR at JSW Steel) and Namita Tiwari (Marketing Director at Wipro) also shared invaluable insights at the event.
“Where success is shaped by diverse options in a swiftly expanding industry, cultivate various avenues of advancement because within the fabric of India’s 63 million enterprises, each generation crafts its own distinct narrative,” emphasised Gopalakrishnan.
Speaking about the success of the symposium, Dr. Ajit Parulekar, Director at GIM said: “This symposium, fuelled by innovation and collaboration, encapsulates our ethos of nurturing a dynamic and visionary approach among students. It’s heartening to witness the enthusiasm and intellect displayed by participants, reinforcing our belief in the power of knowledge exchange and experiential learning.”
