SATTARI: A 25-year-old student of the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) allegedly sustained serious injuries after another student entered her hostel room and attacked her with a knife while she was sleeping, police said.
The incident reportedly took place at around 2.45 pm on September 5, 2026, in Room No. 2205 of Hostel No. 2 on the GIM college campus at Poriem, Sattari.
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Sukanya Sabbhani, 26, allegedly entered the complainant’s room while she was asleep and approached her with a knife. The accused allegedly attacked the complainant on her neck, resulting in serious bleeding injuries.
The complainant further alleged that the accused inflicted cut injuries on her hands and subsequently threatened her with dire consequences, including allegedly threatening to kill her.
The injured woman was identified as Umme Aiman, 25, a native of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The accused is also a GIM student and is originally from Hyderabad.
Following the complaint, Valpoi Police Station registered Crime No. 42/2026 under Sections 109 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and the motive behind the incident.
