PANAJI: In a heartening initiative showcasing the effective use of technology in public service, the Goa Police on November 3, 2025, organized a programme to hand over recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners at 11:00 am.
The event was graced by Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP) K.R. Chaurasia, IPS, and Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Rahul Gupta, IPS.
During the programme, SP Rahul Gupta briefed the gathering about the recovery operation and shared that a total of 55 mobile phones had been successfully traced and recovered by the Mobile Recovery Teams from various police stations across North Goa district through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
The recovered devices, collectively valued at around ₹13 lakh, included premium models such as the iPhone 16e, iPhone 15, and Samsung Galaxy S23, along with devices from Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo, and Realme.
DGP Alok Kumar personally handed over the recovered mobile phones to their owners, while IGP K.R. Chaurasia presented letters of appreciation to the police personnel involved in the recovery process, acknowledging their commendable work.
Expressing their gratitude, several recipients lauded the Goa Police for their swift and efficient action in retrieving their lost devices.
In his address, DGP Alok Kumar emphasized that mobile phones are not just gadgets but hold significant emotional and personal value, containing memories, data, and essential contacts. He appreciated the dedication of the Goa Police teams and their commitment to technology-driven policing aimed at enhancing public trust and service delivery.
