MAPUSA: Mapusa police have arrested one accused of stealing a gold bangle from a jeweller shop.
As per SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi accused person Nilesh Vinayak Naik R/o Corlim, Old Goa n/o Carambolim, Old Goa was arrested by Mapusa Police for being involved in theft at Nagvekar Jeweller, Municipal market, Mapusa wherein he had stolen a Gold kada.
Earlier on 19.12.2023 at 18.00 hrs, Unknown Couple entered Nagvekar Jeweller, Municipal market, Mapusa as customers and by diverting attention stole away one Gold Kada weighing 25 grams from the display counter of a shop in this respect shop the owner Gauresh Nagvekar had filed a complaint at Mapusa Police Station.
In this respect, Mapusa Police Station had registered an FIR under sections 380 & and 34 IPC.
Further, Teams were constituted by PI Mapusa Shitakant Nayak and staff comprising of PSI VIraj Korgaonkar, HC Sushant Chopdekar, Alvito DMello, PC Rajesh Kandolkar LPC Harshada Chodankar after developing information through sources zeroed down the couple at Old Goa wherein they were in process of selling the Gold Kada and intercepted them.
Further, Nilesh Vinayak Naik r/o Corlim, Old Goa N/o Carambolim, Old Goa arrested for the crime and is presently in Police custody. His wife has been given notice for an appearance before police.
The stolen property Gold Kada is seized from the instance of Nilesh Naik.
Further Investigation is in progress under the Supervision of PI Shitakant Nayak, DySP Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valson.
