PANAJI: While claiming that Goa will win the Mhadei case, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant lambasted the opposition for misguiding the people.
“I assure the people of Goa that we will win the Mhadei water dispute case. The Opposition is just misguided and doing politics on the critical issue of Mhadei,” said CM Sawant
He further said that the establishment of the authority will help in preventing illegal diversion of water.
“It also reaffirms the fact that the Centre will not allow any injustice on Goa,” he said.
Sawant also reiterated that Goa has a legally strong in the Mhadei fight, and soon you will see the results.
Sawant also said that the state will soon begin the process of providing new government jobs.
Goa and Karnataka have crossed swords over the diversion of the water of the Mhadei river.
The Union government recently approved the DPR submitted by Karnataka on its plan to construct dams at Khalsa and Bhanduri tributaries of the Mhadei river.
Several social activists, social organisations and opposition parties in Goa have come under one banner of “Save Goa- Save Mhadei’.
Goa and Karnataka are currently battling out a dispute over the Kalsa-Bhandura dam project across the waters of the Mhadei river at a Central tribunal.
